After Hiring a Durham Sign Company: Window Display Ideas You Must Try

"The percentage and “sale” signs still work. The main problem with overly-used elements in advertising is that designers and business owners opt to veer away from them, hoping to be more avant-garde. Who else hasn’t seen that tired, old percent sign and big, bold ‘SALE’ icons on storefronts? Believe it or not though, these elements still work, because for one, it isn’t just advertising for the sake of aesthetics, but it actually tells your customers that you are offering your merchandise at a lower cost, which is always an effective marketing strategy. Another good tip would be to place your store’s name in the window in a way that attracts people’s attention but doesn’t end up hogging the entire space, preventing the rest of your window display from being seen. Look for a reliable sign company in Durham, NC to help you with this. Established firms like Signs Unlimited, Inc. have a variety of services that are sure to suit your needs."

Pointers on Signs in Durham: The What and How of Monument Signage

"Putting up signs is perhaps one of the earliest forms of marketing, and even today, it still stands, though already well-developed and encompassing a wide array of advertising needs and strategies. Signs for Durham businesses are pretty much everywhere in the city, advertising reputable companies as well as their products and services for everyone to see – and of these signage, monument signs are quite common. Here are some basic facts you should know about this type of sign: What is it? If you’ve ever seen a sign made of concrete or bricks that is affixed to the ground, usually hanging low, and has a plaque with text or some images, then you’ve most likely seen a monument sign. The permanence of its position implies that it is typically only placed in the entryway of the business establishment itself, serving as a kind of ‘welcome’ sign. The basic design and apparent durability of monument signs can make a business look and feel more professional."

New Sign Rules May Affect Raleigh Businesses and Durham Sign Companies

Critics of the amendment say that the new regulations make on-site marketing harder for small businesses. As reported by the Midtown Raleigh News, a survey by city planner Travis Crane revealed that around 24.1 percent of businesses in the city would be in violation of the new rules. The move could even curtail business for established sign companies in Durham.

Stringent New Restrictions

First discussed in a March 18, 2014, Raleigh Planning Commission meeting, the proposed amendments recommend that, except for fleet and rental vehicles, all vehicular signage will be prohibited, regardless of intent. However, it is restrictions to window signage that have small business owners most concerned.
